GERSHON EFFICIENCIES

The Sir Peter Gershon Report "Releasing Resources to the Front Line" summarises the work undertaken to consider the scope for efficiency savings across all public expenditure. The purpose of the study was to look at proposals to deliver efficiencies able to be made to the framework within which public sector operates.

There are opportunities to achieve efficiencies by analysing the day-to-day asset base. There is now substantial public domain data that organisations are falling into low usage patterns of asset utilisation.  There is a need for an efficiency-led, yet practical business value driven recommendation process, resulting in tangible business benefits realisation.

Gershon recognises the need to use Change Agents to achieve the necessary changes and benefits in order to fully realise the target savings identified in the report and adopted by the government. The range of Public Sector means that there will be a varied requirement for Change Agents to deliver asset benefits.

As one of these Change Agents we are able to provide pragmatic solutions to address a range of challenges under Gershon.  As part of our strategy, we work with key partners who are able to address specific efficiency issues on the basis of tried and tested approaches which have been developed over several years and have strong international anecdotal results.
